Panasonic are expected to announce their new G9 mirrorless camera on Wednesday morning. Also expected is a new 200mm f/2.8 MFT lens announcement. It seems that, as usual, some folks can’t wait to share the promo images, though. A few images have leaked through both 43Rumors and serial leakers, Nokishita.

While there’s obviously no confirmed specs out there, there are some things we can spot. For a start, it offers dual card slots and has a flippy out LCD. 43Rumors suggest that it will use the 20MP sensor contained within the GH5, which doesn’t seem unreasonable.

They also believe it will offer up to 20fps with full autofocus and up to 60fps with locked autofocus and a new EVF with no blackout. Eat your heart out, Sony A9! Other specs mentioned are 6.5 stops of stabilisation with the 5-axis IBIS used in combination with a stabilised lens. It will also be waterproof and frost resistant to -10°C with a magnesium alloy body. The price is estimated to be around $2,000. Of course, we’ll have to wait until Wednesday for the official announcement.

Stay tuned. We’ll have official release info on Wednesday!
