Like most companies, Nikon has also been hit by the coronavirus outbreak. If you’ve been looking forward to the 24-200mm f/4-6.3 lens for your Nikon mirrorless, you’ll need to wait some more. Sadly, the release of the recently announced NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR has been postponed.
On its website, Nikon apologizes for the delay. As for the previous delays, the company cites “production reasons” to be the cause. Most camera companies have been struggling to get components ever since the pandemic began, and Nikon is no exception. So far, this company has postponed the launch of long-awaited D6, as well as 120-300mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f / 2.8 lenses.
The NIKKOR Z 24-200mm f/4-6.3 VR has been available for preorders as of February this year, priced at $896.95. Shipping was expected to start this month, but I guess it was tough to predict the course of events then. For now, Nikon hasn’t determined a new launch date for the lens.
